August 29 2023 – Dan Milsten & Jeff Paterson

Matt and Blake discuss the season ahead for Andrei Kuzmenko coming off his sensational 39-goal campaign in his first NHL season; the problems at Rogers Arena with the videoboard installation postponing Monday's Drake concert; and a theory on how Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton turned up at Francesco Aquilini's birthday party.

NHL player agent Dan Milstein joins the show to tell us about Kuzmenko's worldwide/whirlwind summer, how the Canucks were not on board to start, how he knew Kuzmenko needed to be in better shape for his second NHL season, and about the trainer who put the player through his paces. He also updates us on the Ilya Mikheyev's recovery from knee surgery, his expectations for Danila Klimovich this season ("NHL games") and mentorship amongst his clients (which include Hall-of-Famer Pavel Datsyuk).

Jeff Paterson joins to talk about the task ahead for the Canucks, both early in the season to avoid another wretched start, and for the entirety of the season to keep Elias Pettersson believing in the organization. Jeff also speaks on Kuzmenko's second season and attempting to reach 40 goals, as well as where Mikheyev was missed last year.

August 28 2023 – Jay Triano

Matt and Blake talk about Elias Pettersson's future with the Canucks and how this year needs to be the year they make the playoffs. No, really. Serious this time. One last dance with Petey if the team falls short. Other topics include ex-Canucks signing PTOs with Edmonton, the Canucks chairman celebrating a star-studded birthday, the Lions baffling loss to Hamilton, the Whitecaps' sensational win at Portland, and CPKC Women's Open at Shaughnessy.

Former Canadian national team player and head coach Jay Triano joins the show to talk about the team's terrific opening weekend at the FIBA World Cup in Indonesia. Canada wins its first two games by 30 and 50 points, respectively, and looks like it has finally arrived to the challenge the USA.  Jay takes us through the personnel, the head coach (whom he serves with in Sacramento with the Kings), the tournament to come and what it means to builders like him to see the program making so much progress, the sport getting more attention from coast to coast.

August 25 2022 – Amar Doman & John Shannon

With Matt away today, Jeff Paterson joins as co-host alongside Blake, and the topic of an Elias Pettersson extension remains a focus. Jeff and Blake talk to John Shannon about any Auston Matthews contract comparisons, plus the possibility of other business being done before training camp.

Then, Blake and Jeff go toe to toe in another edition of SvP, wondering if it’ll be a short or long term deal for EP40 when it does happen.

BC Lions owner Amar Doman also stops by for a mid season report card, and to hype the Lions home game on Saturday vs Hamilton.

August 24 2023 – Rob Williams & Nathan Rourke

Matt and Blake keep talking Petey. How the Auston Matthews extension affects him and the Canucks. The vacant captaincy and what his contractual status means for that decision. The wounds already apparent among Canucks fans. The possibility of an in-season deal. The possibility of a shorter-term deal. And what players usually say about their desire to stay with a team juxtaposed against Elias' comments this week.

Rob Williams stops by with his take on Pettersson's comments, and his concern level that this might be his last season in Vancouver. He also catches us up on changes to Rogers Arena for this season and beyond. Rob also hits on the Raptors, who remain a big draw on the West Coast.

Nathan Rourke takes us through his spectacular TD pass last week, the viral highlight on NFL preseason. He lets us know how he's doing in Jacksonville, the opportunity before him, and how touched he was that the BC Lions and their fans got to see the TD thrown on the big screen at B.C. Place.

August 23 2023 – Frank Corrado & Jeff Paterson

Matt and Blake discuss the big news from Sweden: Elias Pettersson will not be signing a contract extension with the Canucks before the season. They go over the implications for this season and beyond, wonder about the reasons, talk about the offshoots -- can he be named captain in this environment -- as well as parsing the good news about his love for Vancouver and the fishbowl of playing in a hockey market.

Jeff Paterson gives us his reaction to Elias Pettersson's comments, reminds us of the last time he played out a contract and awaited an extension, tells us what that means for the Canucks and explains why he's not yet worried that Petey will leave like Tkachuk in CGY, Dubois in WPG and DeBrincat in OTT.

Frank Corrado is even more optimistic for Canucks fans. He says he has "zero" concern that Pettersson will leave, believing that this is solely about getting off to a good start to the season, unlike the last two. Frank allows that there are positive and negative interpretations to the comments, and that direction of the team is going to be big in getting him signed long-term.

August 22 2023 – Patrick Johnston & Brent Lavallee

Matt and Blake discuss Oliver Ekman-Larsson selling his Kits Point home and the worst acquisitions in Canucks history. They also talk about Corey Pronman's pipeline rankings, the Canucks falling from 14th to 24th, and his ranking of their top-8 prospects, led by Tom Willander down to Danila Klimovich. Other topics include: the Canucks unaddressed need for a big winger; the Lions home to Hamilton Saturday; a big injury at Seahawks camp; Lionel Messi's MLS tour; and the surging Mariners. Patrick Johnston stops by to discuss the past, present and future of OE-L, as well as Canucks prospects and how he sees the defensive pairings shaking out on opening night. He promotes a Troy Stecher community event that's upcoming. North Delta's Brent Lavallee joins to discuss managing his hometown Vancouver Canadians, the C's incredible record this year, going to the Northwest League final, and the makeup of his ballclub, who never say die and have made a habit of late wins, earning the nickname "Cardiac Canadians." August 21 2023 – Jay Pandolfo

Matt and Blake discuss the Canucks defence, specifically the candidate vying to play right-side on the third pair. Tyler Myers, Noah Juulsen, Cole McWard, even Jett Woo feature in what should be a decent camp battle. They also reminisce about three years ago today, and the Canucks beating the defending Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues in the bubble playoffs; fun facts about Pius Suter and trivia about how many Swiss nationals have played for the Canucks. Other topics include: losses by the Lions and Whitecaps over the weekend; the PGA Tour playoffs featuring two Canadians and a near miss by Surrey's Adam Svensson; and a British Columbian winning gold at the World Athletics Championships. Ex-NHLer Jay Pandolfo stops by to talk about coaching the Boston University program that will feature two Canucks draft picks and Macklin Celebrini, the presumptive first pick in next year's NHL draft. Pandolfo gives us scouting reports on Tom Willander and Aiden Celebrini, talks about the year ahead for Macklin, and even has some fun with former BU great Dave Tomlinson, a longtime friend of S&P. August 18 2023 – John Shannon

Matt and Blake discuss the careers of legendary Sabres play-by-play man Rick Jeanneret and Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews, as well as whether Pius Suter makes the Canucks a playoff team. Other topics include the two-year anniversary of Amar Doman buying the Lions, the game Sunday in Regina, Lionel Messi willing to play on turf, and Canadian efforts in golf and basketball this month helping redeem poorer performances in soccer and tennis. John Shannon stops by to evaluate the Suter signing and situate Jeanneret's role in keeping Sabres fans engaged during lean years -- not unlike Jim Robson, John Shorthouse and John Garrett with the Canucks. He also comments on Toews' complicated legacy given the club's scandal with Kyle Beach, and the possibility of more trade activity in training camps as NHL clubs get cap compliant. August 17 2023 – Rob Williams

Matt and Blake discuss Canucks candidates for NHL Awards, including Elias Pettersson's chance at a Selke, Quinn Hughes' push for a Norris, Thatcher Demko's pursuit of a Vezina, and whether Rick Tocchet can walk in Alain Vigneault's shoes and bring home a Jack Adams. Other topics include SFU hockey playing against Canucks prospects at Boston University, and the slow NHL trade market where some big names may linger until the 2024 deadline. Rob Williams stops by to predict what it will take for Pettersson to win an MVP, the signing of Pius Suter and fan confidence in this management group, as well as Vancouver sports bars and a new entry -- a first of its kind -- featuring an iconic sports brand out at UBC. Lastly, we go To The People and hear from listeners: their hot takes, Tell Me I'm Wrongs and comments on topics discussed over the last week. Presented by Applewood Auto Group.

August 16 2023 – Frank Corrado

Matt and Blake countdown to the start of hockey season with the Young Stars tournament less than one month away, and the opening of training camp just a few days after that. They discuss whether the offseason additions "move the needle" for the Canucks both in the short- and long-term; the differences between Pius Suter and Teddy Blueger; the start of Sweden's hockey season with prospects Jonathan Lekkerimäki and Elias (D) Pettersson; and the need for defence prospects beyond the first-round to hit. The Welcome Matt covers Suter and Filip Hronek, two ex-Red Wings who should come to Vancouver with chips on their shoulders after not fitting into the Yzerplan in Detroit. Frank Corrado joins to evaluate Suter the player and the signing for the Canucks. He discusses the mentality Hronek needs to have with his new team; goal-setting from Elias Pettersson; and the final push for NHLers in their summer training. Presented by Applewood Auto Group.
