February 22 2024 – Brenton Demko, Frank Corrado & Rob Williams

Matt and Blake discuss the Canucks' three-game skid, whether the game in Seattle is must-win, the Western and Pacific standings and what could happen with another loss, where the Kraken rivalry stands, Arshdeep Bains' promotion to J.T. Miller's line, the changes to PP1, Pius Suter on the Teddy Blueger line, the roster moves with Dakota Joshua, Carson Soucy and Jett Woo, the dads' trip, and two Canucks prospects making Craig Button's list of Top 50.

Brenton Demko, father of Canucks goalie Thatcher, joins to tell us about the dads' trip. He talks about the activities they've had, how they watch the game in the suite, the two brothers who are on the trip, the support of Kuldip Bains as he watched his son make his NHL debut, and the difference this year with a healthy Thatcher, and what home playoff games at Rogers Arena will be like.

Frank Corrado says he can take your Twitter comments, just don't slide into his LinkedIn DMs and gripe. Frank talks about moral victories, tells dad trip stories, comments on Bains' NHL debut, a "must-win" game vs Seattle, the plight of the Penguins prior to the trade deadline and if he could ever see Sidney Crosby playing anywhere but Pittsburgh.

Rob Williams talks jerseys with us. Will the Canucks wear the black Skate jerseys in the playoffs? There is a precedent of changing jerseys in the playoffs. Rob takes the market's temperature after three losses, and comments on Bains' rise to the NHL from Surrey. Presented by Applewood Auto Group.

February 21 2024 – Irfaan Gaffar & Patrick Johnston

Adversity is officially here for the Canucks! 3 straight losses after the defeat in Denver, so that has Matt and Blake looking at exactly what might be wrong with the team, and what might realistically be changed to stop the bleeding.

Irfaan Gaffar stops by with his take on the game vs the Avs, including the NHL debut of Arshdeep Bains. The guys get into whether Bains might actually be a part of the solution moving forward, and where he fits in. Irf also chimes in on the pursuit of Chris Tanev, and the update on Phil Kessel in Abby.

Patrick Johnston pays his weekly visit, and he is “not” buying into any moral victories after the performance in Colorado. He also has a breakdown of the struggling Canucks power play, players in the wrong places, and how that might have changed their fortunes in the past week. Also, his thoughts on Bains and a struggling Ilya Mikeheyev. All that, plus the BC Lions with a key contract extension and more! Presented by Applewood Auto Group.

February 20 2024 – Jeff Paterson & John Shannon

Matt and Blake discuss the Canucks' first (?) bout of adversity this season following a 10-7 loss in Minnesota, all the crazy stats in that game, how they'll respond in Colorado, the challenge the Avs pose, the club's record against the best teams (and Elias Pettersson's performance in those games). They hear from Rick Tocchet on penalties and discipline being an issue, look forward to Arshdeep Bains' NHL debut and the great local story that he is. They talk about the Canucks lack of rookies and how poor Bains might be on the hook for an expensive dinner, the performance of Casey DeSmith and how much he can be trusted going forward, plus trade deadline chatter around Chris Tanev and Noah Hanifin.

Rink Wide: Vancouver host Jeff Paterson joins to discuss the 10-7 loss in Minnesota, the Canucks' lack of composure, Rick Tocchet's in-game management and comments thereafter., Jeff talks about the Arshdeep Bains story in advance of his NHL debut, the club's goaltending predicament with Casey DeSmith struggling, Nathan MacKinnon's MVP campaign, and whether the Canucks compete for the Hart (no) and Norris (yes) trophies.

John Shannon stops by and talks about the Canucks facing adversity after the 10-7 loss in Minnesota. He discusses the Canucks vs the best teams in the league, whether needs have been exposed, points forward to the playoffs and hostile environments, the loss of Dakota Joshua, and what the Vegas Golden Knights might have planned for the trade deadline. February 16 2024 – Frank Seravalli & Jeff Paterson

Matt and Blake discuss a 4-1 win against Detroit, a two-goal game for Elias Lindholm and his Canucks future as a centre, according to head coach Rick Tocchet. They talk about how much fun it is watching the Canucks these days (most fun ever?) and the team's growing lead atop the NHL standings. They talk Nikita Zadorov's honour and honesty, his fun doing the Griddy dance back at Jake Walman, Thatcher Demko's brilliance and attempt at goal, Nils Höglander moving on up to PP2, and where Phil Kessel fits when (if?) he's signed.

Frank Seravalli explains the Canucks' plans for Phil Kessel and how, if he works out, the team might be done adding forwards and will focus attention on defence. He tells us what others around the NHL are saying about the league-leading Canucks, extols the virtues of Tocchet and says he'll be a magnet for free agents, and goes through the Pittsburgh Penguins' conundrum including an injury to deadline target Jake Guentzel and Sidney Crosby's future.

Jeff Paterson, the host of Rink Wide: Vancouver, talks about the win over the Red Wings, the goaltender showdown Saturday against the Jets, the plight of Ilya Mikheyev, the plans for Kessel, Brock Boeser's slump, and how the penalty-killing is now...wait for it...good!

Plus, we go To The People and hear from listeners on Canucks topics. Presented by Applewood Auto Group.

February 15 2024 – Patrick Johnston & Rob Williams

Matt and Blake discuss Dakota Joshua's injury and whether it was worth fighting in Chicago just as he and that line were peaking. Ilya Mikheyev is the beneficiary of Joshua missing Thursday's home game, can he exit his 22-game slump and does he have to show something, or risk being traded, before the March 8 deadline? The guys talk about Phil Kessel's fitness level and fit, whether the Canucks should risk losing a player on waivers to add him to the NHL roster, and about retribution/vengeance with the Wings after the Nikita Zadorov hit on Lucas Raymond and Jake Walman's *Griddy* celebration.

Patrick Johnston joins and talks about his article with Jim Rutherford and the Canucks seeking depth. Patrick talks about Kessel's future with the Canucks, that fantastic third line and Joshua, the pursuit of Chris Tanev, Jake Guentzel getting injured, and bad blood with the Wings.

Rob Williams tells us why Costco was trending in Vancouver upon the Kessel news, compares Kessel to the Mats Sundin signing of 2009, wonders who he would play, and explains how he got an exclusive interview with Mark Messier, who says he was brought to captain a Canucks' (ahem) "rebuild." Frank Corrado pays his weekly visit and has tales to tell of his time playing with Kessel in Pittsburgh, and offers his opinion on where he might be at now. Frank also weighs in on the fabulous play of the 3rd line in Vancouver, with Joshua and Blueger set to become free agents.

February 13 2024 – Irfaan Gaffar & John Shannon

Matt and Blake talk about the Canucks ending (winning?) their road trip in Chicago against the still Bedard-less Chicago Blackhawks; Brock Boeser's appearance on Spittin' Chiclets and finally getting to 30 goals to "shut up" the media; ESPN finally giving Quinn Hughes his due with their defence rankings. The guys also look at Seattle and Arizona, barely hanging on in the Western Conference playoff race, and the potential availability of their UFAs prior to the trade deadline.

Irf Gaffar joins to talk deadline: Chris Tanev, Jake Guentzel, the profile of depth pieces. Does Cup experience matter? Handedness? Size? Irf sizes up a potential arms race in the Pacific with Vegas and Edmonton, comments on making defensive trades, and gives his take on the Canucks' form of late.

John Shannon joins and talks "The Code." He reveals that he has a leather-bound copy of the code, talks about the Detroit-Vancouver rematch Thursday, how he wasn't bothered by Ridley Greig's slapshot into an empty net, and how retribution often puts a team at a competitive disadvantage. John comments on the Penguins and Kraken falling out of the race and who might be available, as well as the Super Bowl telecast and its huge viewership. Presented by Applewood Auto Group.

February 12 2024 – Jeff Paterson

Weekend whirl! After an incredible few days in sport, there’s lots to get to for Matt and Blake. They break down both Canucks games, as they take three out of four points on the road, plus the Super Bowl and Nick Taylor’s PGA win in Arizona.

Rink Wide: Vancouver host Jeff Paterson stops by with the details of the Canucks 2 games, including the separation of Lindholm and EP40, the emergence of Höglander as a top 6 winger, and the blueline battles with Soucy injured and Zadorov suspended. Will Jett Woo make his Canucks debut?

Lots of NFL talk after that as the guys debate where Mahomes and Kelce will land in the history books, how many more titles this dynasty could win, and did Usher make the grade at half-time? Presented by Applewood Auto Group.

February 9 2024 – Frank Seravalli & Jeff Paterson

Matt and Blake discuss the Canucks' worst loss of the season in Boston, Rick Tocchet calling out his stars (without naming names), their penchant for giving up shorthanded goals, the possibility of seeing Ilya Mikheyev demoted and Nils Höglander promoted, their performance this season against Cup contenders, and a busy weekend with games in Detroit and Washington. Other topics include if there's a buyer's market at the deadline?; the number of defencemen available, the teams seeking defencemen, and bubble teams that may now be getting out and selling off rentals.

Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff stops by to talk about the Canucks' interest in free agent Phil Kessel, whether there's any smoke to the Rasmus Ristolainen rumours, Calgary's quandary with former Canuck Chris Tanev and Noah Hanifin, and former Canuck Nick Dowd fetching a first-round pick?

Rink Wide: Vancouver host Jeff Paterson joins and carves the Canucks' effort in Boston. Jeff is disappointed that such a big game went so meekly into the night. He looks at Tocchet's comments, the star players, Elias Pettersson's effort on a race with Danton Heinen, Höglander's upward mobility, line juggling and the games in Detroit and Washington. Presented by Applewood Auto Group.
