The Vancouver Canucks have become notorious for making big trades ahead of the deadline as of late. This will be the second meeting between these two Pacific Division rivals, with the Canucks taking the first matchup 5-1 earlier this year. With a victory, Vancouver would stay above the playoff bar for another night while also putting additional space between themselves and the Ducks.

The 2024-25 regular season is slowly coming to an end, with most teams in the NHL having 25 or fewer games left on their schedule. Among the group are the Vancouver Canucks, who, as of February 25, 2025, are down to 25 games remaining. While there is still plenty of hockey to play, Vancouver needs to start putting together multi-game win streaks if they have their sights on a berth in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Kiefer Sherwood has once again hit his way into the NHL record book. Against the Vegas Golden Knights, the Vancouver Canucks forward became the 17th player in NHL history to record 300 hits in a season. According to Sportsnet, Sherwood is also the fastest player to 300 hits in a season, achieving the feat in just 52 games.

With the 4 Nations Face-Off now complete, the Vancouver Canucks enter the final stretch of the regular season. Between February 22nd and April 17th, the Canucks have 27 games left to secure their spot in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. With just over 40% of their remaining schedule against Pacific Division rivals, Vancouver will need to ensure they not just pick up wins but are victorious in regulation.
