The Montreal Canadiens took on the San Jose Sharks for the last time this season on Thursday night at the Bell Centre. It was Habs fans' only chance to see first-overall pick Macklin Celebrini live this season, and he did create some scoring chances.

Since the San Jose Sharks are in town to take on the Montreal Canadiens, former Hab Tyler Toffoli was happy to catch up with some friends. The Habs had the day off yesterday, so Jake Evans and Cole Caufield were glad to go for a bite with their former teammate.

For the second and last time this season, the Montreal Canadiens will take on the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night at the Bell Centre. The two sides met earlier this month, and the Habs came out on top in a 4-3. Once again, it will be a battle between the two top rookies in the league, as Lane Hutson currently leads the race to the highest-scoring rookie with 43 points, with Macklin Celebrini trailing by one point.

It had been a good long while since the Montreal Canadiens managed to have the better of the Carolina Hurricanes; it was probably when they made that overinflated offer to Jesperi Kotkaniemi but on the scoreboard, the Habs’ last win against Tuesday night’s visitors dated back to February 2020.

Logan Mailloux was drafted by the Canadiens in 2021. He was taken 31st overall because no other team would draft him in that position based on his off-ice issues that were well-documented. That didn’t mean he couldn’t play hockey, because he can and he is developing in Laval.

On February 2, 1971, Peter Mahovlich, nicknamed “Little M,” scored the first hat trick of his career. After being drafted second overall by the Detroit Red Wings in 1963, the younger Mahovlich failed to meet expectations in Motor City and was traded to the Montreal Canadiens with Bart Crashley in June 1969 in return for Garry Monahan and Doug Piper.

The Montreal Canadiens will take on the Carolina Hurricanes for the first time this season on Tuesday night at the Bell Centre. The last time the two teams met was in March 2024. Samuel Montembeault was in the net in a 3-0 loss, although the final lamplighter was scored in an empty net.
