The Ducks take on the Vancouver Canucks in their first home game since the 4 Nations Face-Off. The Ducks are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday while the Canucks are coming off a 3-2 overtime win against the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday.
The Anaheim Ducks are 1-1-1 in their three games following the extended NHL 4 Nations Face-Off break. However slim the possibilities, they are in the Western Conference wild card race with just 25 games remaining on their schedule.
The Anaheim Ducks have acquired goaltender Ville Husso from the Detroit Red Wings. The Ducks’ goaltending depth has been depleted recently with Tomáš Suchánek suffering a torn ACL prior to the start of the season and Calle Clang now month-to-month with an injury of his own.
On Monday, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced that Trevor Zegras has been suspended for three games for interference on the Detroit Red Wings’ Michael Rasmussen during Sunday’s game. No penalty was called on the hit and Rasmussen left the game due to injury and did not return.
