The Toronto Maple Leafs dug themselves a sizable hole late in Wednesday's game, but once again they rallied for a victory.
Toronto clawed back from a 4-2 deficit in the third period against the Dallas Stars to win 6-5 in a shootout. It marked the fourth time this season that the Maple Leafs have come back from two goals down in the third period to win, the most of any team in the league.
The victory came on the back of James van Riemsdyk's third career hat trick (his second as a Maple Leaf). Those three goals gave van Riemsdyk 29 for the season, as he moved past sophomore superstar Auston Matthews for the team lead.
