Broadway hasn't been kind to the New York Rangers.
The Manhattan squad dropped its sixth straight playoff game at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, as the Rangers fell 3-1 to the Montreal Canadiens.
It's been nearly two years since the Rangers captured a postseason victory in front of their home crowd, with that win coming in Game 7 of a second-round series against the Washington Capitals on May 13, 2015:
Game | Date | Opponent | Score |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Apr 16 2017 | Canadiens | L 3-1 |
2 | Apr 21 2016 | Penguins | L 5-0 |
3 | Apr 19 2016 | Penguins | L 3-1 |
4 | May 29 2015 | Lightning | L 2-0 |
5 | May 24 2015 | Lightning | L 2-0 |
6 | May 18 2015 | Lightning | L 6-2 |
Just 11 of the 18 Rangers who skated that night, plus goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, remain with the club less than two years later.
The Rangers are now down 2-1 in their series against the Canadiens. The two sides split the first two games in Montreal before the Rangers' loss at home on Sunday. Game 4 comes Tuesday in New York.
