Captain Shane Doan and rookie Jakob Chychrun collided during the pregame warmup Monday night ahead of their game against the Colorado Avalanche.
The club announced Doan was not on the bench to start the game, but the 40-year-old eventually emerged late in the first period.
At least they only have 14 games left after this.
