All who visited Joe Louis Arena for the team's first home game since Ilitch's passing were greeted with a giant banner in Ilitch's honor.
Fans were also able to share their thoughts on a giant white board upon entering the arena.
Prior to puck drop, a moment of silence was held and the following tribute video was shown on the video scoreboard.
One of the great owners in modern sports will be dearly missed indeed.
