Maroon, Klefbom hit personal milestones as Oilers win 30th

Remember when the Edmonton Oilers couldn't beat the Arizona Coyotes? Like, ever? Well, those days are done.

The Oilers easily dispatched the Coyotes at home Tuesday, 5-2. and Patrick Maroon and Oscar Klefbom hit some personal milestones in the process.

First, Maroon. He's a 20-goal scorer in the NHL for the first time. Something to tell the kids and grandkids, especially considering his previous high was 11. And even more remarkable is that 18 of those 20 goals have come at even strength.

Defender Klefbom, meanwhile, assisted on Maroon's tally, giving him a goal and two assists on the night. It was the first three-point game of the 23-year-old's career, and his 23 points on the season are a new career high. He went into Tuesday's game with 20 points, which matched his total in 2014-15, when he had two goals and 18 assists in 60 games.

This time around, Klefbom's got nine goals and 14 assists. A few more assists and it'll be a career year across the board.

While we're on the topic of three-point games, Leon Draisaitl finished Tuesday with a goal and two assists, as well, giving him 50 points on the season. He had 51 last season, a career high in his first full campaign, so he's in the process of setting new heights for himself, too.

It's a good time to be an Oiler, and an even better time to be an Oilers supporter.
