Free-agent defenseman Dennis Seidenberg signed with the New York Islanders and will join the team after the World Cup, reports TSN's Darren Dreger.
The contract is a one-year deal worth $1 million, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.
The 35-year-old German, who had the final two years of his contract bought out by the Boston Bruins in June, is representing Team Europe in the World Cup finals.
Seidenberg suited up in 61 contests in Boston last season, scoring one goal and adding 11 assists.
