The Pittsburgh Penguins are working to acquire star defenseman Erik Karlsson from the San Jose Sharks in a three-team trade involving the Montreal Canadiens, reports Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Karlsson, 33, paced all defensemen this past season with 25 goals and 101 points while skating in all 82 games for the first time since 2015-16. He also became the first rearguard to hit the 100-point mark since Brian Leetch in 1991-92.
More to come.
