Kirby Dach isn't going back to junior this season.
Dach will stay in the NHL for the duration of the campaign, according to Carter Baum of the team's website.
The third overall pick in June's draft will remain with the Chicago Blackhawks for the foreseeable future, head coach Jeremy Colliton confirmed on Wednesday.
“He’s been a bright spot for us," Colliton said. "... He immediately showed he was comfortable in this league.”
Dach has recorded a goal and an assist across six contests since being called up on Oct. 19. The 18-year-old was summoned following a three-game conditioning stint with the AHL's Rockford IceHogs.
He racked up 73 points with the WHL's Saskatoon Blades in 2018-19.
