Elias Pettersson says he'll likely be in the lineup against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday afternoon.
"There's a good chance I will be playing (Sunday), but I will check in with the medical team later (Saturday night) and (Sunday) morning and see how I feel, and we'll make the decision after that," Pettersson told reporters after practice on Saturday.
The rookie scoring leader was a full participant in Saturday's session.
Pettersson has missed the Canucks' last five games due to a slight knee sprain suffered after getting tangled up with the Montreal Canadiens' Jesperi Kotkaniemi on Jan. 3.
Despite missing time with that ailment and a concussion earlier in the campaign and playing only 38 games, Pettersson still comfortably leads first-year players in goals (22) and points (42).
