The San Jose Sharks made it official Sunday, announcing the signing of Joe Thornton to a one-year deal.
It's worth $8 million, according to his agency, Top Shelf Sports Management.

Thornton and the Sharks agreed to the new deal Saturday, as Kevin Kurz of NBC Sports California first reported.
The 38-year-old ranked second on the Sharks with 43 assists and finished fourth on the club with 50 points this past season.
