Flyers activate Neuvirth off injured reserve

The Philadelphia Flyers will welcome goaltender Michal Neuvirth back to the lineup on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old was activated off injured reserve and will serve as Steve Mason's backup when the Flyers take on the New York Rangers, the team announced on Tuesday.

Neuvirth has been out of action since Nov. 12 when he suffered a lower-body injury against the Minnesota Wild.

In a corresponding move, the team has reassigned goaltender Anthony Stolarz to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League.

Neuvirth is 4-2-0 in nine games this season, with a 3.54 goals-against average and a .859 save percentage.
