Ryan Nugent-Hopkins played the part of hero, with a little help from a fellow first overall pick.
That would be Connor McDavid, who assisted on Nugent-Hopkins' overtime game-winning goal against the St. Louis Blues on Monday, giving the Edmonton Oilers a big road win.
The goal was Nugent-Hopkins' sixth of the season, while the assist gave McDavid a league-high 28, adding to his first-place overall point total (40).
From a team perspective, the Oilers now sit in a three-way tie for first place in the Pacific Division, matching the 39 points earned by San Jose and Anaheim.
