The Ottawa Senators goaltending took a hit on Friday.
Andrew Hammond was forced from the club's game against the Calgary Flames with what head coach Guy Boucher is calling a lower-body injury.
Boucher noted that Hammond will be re-evaluated on Saturday, but with the team in action against the Edmonton Oilers, something - such as possibly recalling goaltender Matt O'Connor from the American Hockey League - will have to be done.
Calling on O'Connor is a necessary evil for the Senators, who announced Thursday that starting netminder Craig Anderson will miss time due to personal reasons.
Hammond has played in just two games this season, amassing a questionable 4.5 goals against average and a measly .793 save percentage.
