Kris Letang won't be able to take part in the Stanley Cup Final rematch.
The Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman was ruled out of Thursday's game against the San Jose Sharks.
He was hurt late in Tuesday's loss to the Montreal Canadiens on a hit by Brendan Gallagher, and Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan would only classify Letang's ailment as an upper-body injury when prompted Wednesday.
Sullivan described both Letang and forward Conor Sheary as day to day, and neither will play Thursday.
Letang leads the Penguins in average time-on-ice and ranks eighth in the NHL at 26:09 through the first four games. He was limited to 18:55 on Tuesday.
