The Buffalo Sabres are expected to be without forward Jack Eichel for at least four to six weeks after sustaining - what was initially diagnosed as - a high ankle sprain, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.

Eichel got tangled up with forward Zemgus Girgensons at practice on Weduring a drill in front of the net and took an awkward fall on his left ankle.
As per McKenzie, Eichel is seeing doctors and getting more imaging done to get a more definitive diagnosis. In turn he suggests that a more indepth diagnosis could reveal whether or not Eichel misses more time than the expected four to six weeks.
The injury is a huge blow as Eichel was slated to occupy the team's No. 1 center position.
