The Montreal Canadiens appear to be covering their tracks.
A sign reading "No excuses" - which had been a mainstay in the club's dressing room - was removed Monday.

And with that, many of the Canadiens faithful took to Twitter to suggest possible replacements, with many of them being just downright ruthless.
Pretty sure we all know where this one stems from:
@TSN690MTL "No Personalities Allowed"
— Jordan Decker (@_JordanDecker) August 23, 2016
And following the same theme:
@TSN690MTL "Stop having fun 😠."
— PHALLUSNEXTDOOR (@Silencerr) August 23, 2016
After Carey Price missed almost all of last season, this isn't a terrible idea:
@TSN690MTL no seriously, they should replace it with "Carey Please Don't Get Injured"
— Martin Curran (@MartinCurran4) August 23, 2016
Maybe the most honest of the bunch:
@TSN690MTL "Now Accepting Excuses"
— JD (@JaonsVan) August 23, 2016
Following suit after a certain unnamed American politician:
@TSN690MTL "Make Canada Great Again"
— Dan Augustsson (@DaugHabs) August 23, 2016
Who said the replacement had to include words?

— Ryan R (@TheKert) August 23, 2016
And one nearly all of Canada could rally behind:
@TSN690MTL "poutine shall save us"
