Watch: Allen makes stunning pad save to rob Thornton

Jake Allen's earned himself another start.

The St. Louis Blues goaltender, starting in place of Brian Elliott in Game 4 against the San Jose Sharks, will likely be in the crease for Game 5, thanks in part to saves like the above.

It was actually the second time he robbed Joe Thornton of a goal.

Pavelski sets Sharks playoff scoring record after ridiculous Thornton feed

Joe Pavelski's immaculate playoffs continued Saturday.

The San Jose Sharks captain scored his 10th goal of the postseason in Game 4 against the St. Louis Blues, making franchise history in the process.

The goal was set up by Joe Thornton, giving the center 11 assists in the spring - tied for third in the NHL with Pittsburgh Penguins forward Nick Bonino. It was another bananas pass by the big man.

Jones pulled, Reimer makes 1st playoff appearance since 2013

Welcome back to playoff hockey, James Reimer.

After his team fell into a 4-0 hole to the St. Louis Blues in Game 4, San Jose Sharks head coach Pete DeBoer made the decision to pull Martin Jones in favor of Reimer, who hadn't appeared in the postseason in over three years.

While Reimer was the goalie of record as the Maple Leafs blew that fateful game in Boston, he did post a .923 save percentage over the course of that seven-game series with the Bruins, which represented the entirety of his playoff experience up until Saturday.

Jones allowed four goals on 19 shots, with the last two coming off the stick of Kyle Brodziak.

Baby’s Burns beard is beautiful

Everyone in San Jose has playoff and Brent Burns fever.

No, seriously, everyone.

Burns is second in the NHL in playoff scoring, trailing only Sharks teammate Logan Couture. He has 18 points in 15 games, and his beard is obviously the playoffs' best.

Watch: Jones makes miraculous stick save, but Lehtera buries rebound

The rebound's never the goalie's fault.

Poor Martin Jones. The San Jose Sharks goaltender made what looked to be the save of the playoffs on Robby Fabbri, but the rookie's St. Louis Blues teammate, Jori Lehtera, got to the rebound and put it home.

Fabbri picked up an assist on the play, giving him an impressive 15 points this spring.

Watch: Brouwer ends Blues’ lengthy goal drought early in Game 4

The St. Louis Blues finally put one past Martin Jones.

The visiting team opened the scoring in Game 4 against the San Jose Sharks, courtesy of a Troy Brouwer power-play goal.

The Blues had been held without a goal since the 9:15 mark of the second period in Game 1. Jones made 62 saves during the shutout streak, but fell short of a team record.

The goal - which was challenged by the Sharks based on the belief the play was offside - was Brouwer's sixth of the playoffs, and was assisted neatly by Robby Fabbri and Paul Stastny.

Abdelkader compares teammate Nyquist to Preakness namesake

Justin Abdelkader sees a little bit of Nyquist in... Nyquist.

In an interview with the New York Times' Melissa Halpert, the Detroit Red Wings left-winger captured entertaining similarities between teammate Gustav Nyquist and the 2016 Preakness Stakes favorite.

"Obviously, he has a knack for scoring goals, and he's scored some big ones for us, so I think that he's a fun player to watch," Abdelkader said. "I think that can probably relate to Nyquist the horse. He's probably a fun horse for people to watch because he's really fast and can obviously finish strong."

Nyquist, the Swedish ice-skating version, wasn't shy about throwing his support behind his four-legged namesake on Friday:

Both parties having the same name isn't a coincidence: The horse's owner, J. Paul Reddam, is an avid Red Wings fan, and has named past horses after other Detroit legends, such as Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk.

Nyquist - the horse - is scheduled to race at 6:45 p.m. ET in Saturday's main event as he attempts to complete two-thirds of the Triple Crown.

Canada slips past U.S., face Finland in final at worlds

Cam Talbot made 30 saves and Ryan Ellis provided the go-ahead goal 94 seconds into the third period as defending-champion Canada advanced to the gold-medal final at the World Championship with a 4-3 victory over the United States.

Brendan Gallagher, Brad Marchand, and Derick Brassard also scored for the Canadians, who will now rematch the only team that's beat them in the tournament so far in Sunday's final: undefeated Finland.

Keith Kinkaid made 23 stops for the United States, while Auston Matthews, David Warsofsky, and Tyler Motte each scored, while Dylan Larkin racked up two assists across a seven-minute stretch early in the second period.

With Russia waiting, the Americans now meet the host country in the bronze medal showdown for a second straight tournament. They beat the Czech Republic last year in Prague.

Canada, meanwhile, presents the final hurdle for Finland in capturing all three major IIHF men's international tournaments this year.
