The New York Islanders have signed Quinnipiac defenseman Devon Toews to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Friday.
The 22-year-old was selected 108th overall by the Islanders in the 2014 draft, and spent three seasons at Quinnipiac.
A strong skater, and left-handed shot, Toews is the latest name added to the team's already deep pool of prospects.
Toews captained Quinnipiac to the Frozen Four title game this season, scoring seven goals and 23 assists in 40 games.
